Things have certainly moved on for this wonderful haiku!
It won First Place in the Penumbra Haiku Contest of 1999.
It currently appears in Roberta Beary's book of poems, The Unworn Necklace, which won first prize in the Snapshot Press Haiku Collection Competition.
It's a 2008 Finalist in the Poetry Society of America's Williams Carlos Williams Award
